Singer and actor Abdillah Murad Md Shari, better known as Achik Spin, was killed in a tragic accident on 17th April 2010 (Saturday) around 6.15pm, reportedly at kilometre 14.7 of the Kajang-Seremban Highway (LEKAS)
Details are still sketchy though the 28 year-old was said to have been killed on the spot as the vehicle he was driving - a Toyota Estima - was engulfed in flames
Achik was reportedly thrown out of the vehicle due to the impact and died of severe head and body injuries while the car later caught fire and exploded
Achik, made his name with the band Spin as well as several hits from his collaboration with another singer, Siti Nordiana Mohd Alias or Nana, as she is more affectionately known
Nana said she was last with Achik during their recording for an RTM programme - Gah 1 - earlier that evening. Gah 1 is a live show and Achik performed the song entitled Mencari Ketenangan
"We completed our recording at about 5pm, and I gave him a lift to his car which was parked quite a distance away
"It never crossed my mind that it would be the last time I would ever see him."
The 28 year-old said Achik was accompanied by an as-yet unidentified friend
Contacted at about 8pm by The Malay Mail, Nana said she was in shock after receiving the news just moments before word went out on the Internet
"I called his sister. In tears, she confirmed Achik's passing but said she too was seeking more details
"All I know right now is that he was driving home to Seremban along the Branang highway and accompanied by a friend who escaped with a broken leg"
